The first song on the new album, "The Weight Of These Things". The acoustic guitar and vocal are from a full live take at Steve Rizzo's studio in Rhode Island. I overdubbed the electric guitars after that and decided to keep it minimal without drums or bass. As long as the song rocked without a rhythm section, I liked the idea of it being intense and rockin without other instrumentation.

Lyrics
GOOD TO BE BAD
All she wanted was war
All I wanted was a girl to adore
I tried to give her my name
She threw it down on the floor
Every promise I gave
She made a run for the door
Did everything to treat her like she never had before
But I could treat her like a $2 whore and she'd love me more
Looks like it's Good to be Bad and Bad to be Good
Sometimes it's Good to be Bad and Bad to be Good
The day turns to night
Not afraid of the dark, it's alright
It's a dangerous life
Like Juggling knives
Well, I guess that it's true
Tried to fight it, it ain't no use
This world can be cruel, what's there to do?
It's hard when nobody's living by the Golden Rule
Looks like it's Good to be Bad and Bad to be Good
Sometimes it's Good to be Bad and Bad to be Good
Looks like it's Good to be Bad and Bad to be Good
Sometimes it's Good to be Bad and Bad to be Good
