On SAT, MAY 16th, JOEL ECKELS will be playing a rare full band show at the legendary HOTEL CAFE in Hollywood. Many of you know that the original location is shutting the doors this year and moving to a new spot in 2027. Lots of history and memories in the walls of the original space. 

Joel and the band (featuring Paul Allen on drums and Shiben Bhattacharya on bass) will be playing songs from upcoming album RED, WHITE, BLACK and BLUE. The album is finally wrapping up and getting set up to officially release. 

Also appearing on the 16th will be the fabulous Ben Matin at 9pm and Haleigh Bowers at 8pm. Don't miss it!

7pm before the Monday monday music showcase

Hotel Cafe's own Joel Eckels will be playing an early full set before the Monday Monday showcase on Jan 19th. As the original host and creator of Monday Mondays, Eckels typically goes on at the end of the night. This time, he will take the stage at 7pm prior to the Monday Monday showcase hosted by @thebroadwayb . Bob Lewis will join him as a special guest in town from Nashville. Come down early and stay for a great night of music.

Joel Eckels is making Wed, Dec 3rd a party for friends and fans to celebrate the Hotel Cafe and play some music with some of his favorite musicians. Come on out for a cocktail/social hour at 7pm followed by performances from Angel Taylor, David Poe, Cynthia Catania, Ben Matin and Rosa Pullmam. At 9:30pm, Joel will be taking the stage with Chris Lovejoy and some special guests for a full set of original music.

I'm happy to be playing a full set of music this Friday night 8/1/25 at the legendary Hotel Cafe. I'll be playing songs from the new album along with some brand new tunes and a couple old favorites. 

Logan Metz will be on the bill as well doing a set of his own. Logan and I toured with Lukas Nelson and Promise Of The Real for many years together, so this will be an exciting reunion.

The Problem is part of a trio of songs I wrote during the pandemic about social injustice. It was written as if I'm talking directly to the people in the world who are the problem; those who lack humanity, human decency and who ignore the golden rule. I like to think that anyone who is offended by this song in any way may want to really take a look in the mirror and ask if they are, in fact, the problem. Otherwise anyone listening to the lyrics should agree with what I'm trying to say, Period.

UPDATE - Fans and friends, I wanted to take a moment to share a little about my world these days…

As many of you know, music is everything to me and creating it is my biggest joy in life. That being said, It’s been very difficult lately to find the time and focus to give to my music and give the proper attention to these new releases. Being out on the road with Lukas Nelson & POTR as their FOH audio engineer and production manager keeps me very busy and it’s hard to find the time and focus I need to properly get this music out there. Not to mention, I definitely haven’t been performing nearly enough to support it.

I’m hoping to change that a bit in 2024 as I continue to release more music that I’ve been working on and find more opportunities to be the musician I am at my core. I feel good about these songs and what I have to share. I can’t wait for you to hear them. Your support has meant the world to me and I appreciate each and every one of you that has believed in the music I create.

All the song plays, likes and shares on social media, feedback and moral support are a big deal for me, so keep it coming. I want nothing more than for these songs to reach the people that will dig them and be able to put the right energy into all of it. It’s a lot harder than it may sound. You all are the key and I can’t thank you enough.
